  • Here’s a rare Paiste that is insanely MELLOW!! 

  • The Pre-Serial 602 FLAT RIDE….of Flat Ride fame!! 

  • Literally from the FIRST few years of Flat Rides. Ever! 

  • 55 year old beauty that’s wonderfully, mellowed, played in and has a softness the Re-Issue lacks.  This beauty has that hallmark Vintage 602 rippled wavy FANNED out hammering you see on some of these 50-year-old gems.

  • THIS is the tone that made Paiste famous in the 60s and 70s. This right here. 

  • Hard to find Vintage Paiste Pre-Serial 602 20” FLAT RIDE Medium in excellent condition.  

  • Iconic red label.  “PATENT PENDING” on the back (that’s early!) 

  • What makes this particular Paste a standout is that is has this unique SHIMMER to it, sure it's warm and mellow, as you would expect, but this particular Flat Ride has a very nice shimmer and the edges BLUR when played. 

  • Weighing in at a lovely and fairly thin 2242 grams, this Rare Paiste plays like a the REAL DEAL Vintage Flat Ride. The edges are slightly BENDABLE and the cymbal is fairly malleable and feels softer for this series. 

  • The stick definition is EXTREMELY strong --compliments of the absence of a bell.  However overall vibe is SMOOTH and definitely MELLOW and again this particular Paiste has an aura of shimmer to it that makes it come alive without being harsh. 

  • Being a Paiste 602 Flat Ride, the ensuing wash is subtle and controlled, and the edges wobble. 

  • Crash accent on it for lightening-like accents that quickly evaporate.

  • Amazing for very low to medium volumes. Magic under the mic! 

  • No issues.  Beautiful golden half-century old patina has graced it and it will continued to age and mellow well. 
  • No need to shell out more for the Re-Issue trying to capture the tone from yesteryear. THIS is THE TONE. 

  • Iconic.  Famous.  Very hard to find, but a joy when you do!   It sings with the lightest touch. One of the EARLIEST ones.
