Here’s a very rare and collectible pair of AGOPs  that were only made for a brief time. And these beauties sound absolutely magnificent. Specifically more controlled but still with that famous AGOP warmth and subtle complexity.

The Istanbul AGOP AZURE was a tip of the hat to the Paiste BLUE LABEL 602 - hence the name.

With Traditional style FULL lathing and a slightly smaller bell, this series offered a pinch more of that clean Paiste control to the famous Hand Hammered Agop complexity.

And it worked.

These Azures do indeed have a stunning, very clean and controlled tone for being Hand Hammered.  And they’re still exceptionally warm sounding.

Imagine a Paiste Traditional meets an AGOP. That’s these rare Azure Hihats. Dark leanings with a very well defined stick attack.  Open them up for a soft sibilant hand hammered complex hissssss.

Take a listen.  These are some of the nicest, warmest, most tight and clean sounding Hand Hammered Agops you will hear.

And these Azures were harder to find even when they were being made.
