- This is an amazing 70 year old Zildjian - the kind people are always asking me to find.
- Here it is!
- Along with the Trans Stamps, the 1950s BLOCK STAMP Logo is my favorite era of Zildjian.
- It’s their gilded age. There’s something about the metal from that era. It’s soft and buttery and pliable. And it’s actually Hand Hammered - imagine that!
- And that’s exactly the case with this particular VERY THIN 20” 7 decade old Zildjian.
- This is the tone Zildjian built their name on.
- Only 1881 grams! That’s very hard to find on a Block Stamp today - the ones that survived the 80s are usually well over 2000 grams.
- This particular 20” is DARK and has as exceptionally warm, light complexity.
- The 70-year-old dark gold patina has aged and mellows this 20” out magnificently.
- Light and woody stick attack that is followed by a wonderful glowing warm Block Stamp Hand Hammered wash.
- Crash on it all you want - it’s 1881 grams!!
- This is a spectacular Vintage Zildjian. An incredible Thin LIGHT Ride or even Thin Dark Crash.
- Great shape. Slight keyhole because someone played this beauty back in 1962 because it’s a good one. Typical light wear.
- Don’t pay more money for a “Vintage Vibe” Zildjian.
- It’s a lot more fun to just play the original 70 year old one. And this one is a beauty. That, I guarantee.
