SUPER SMOOTH Vintage Early Paiste Ludwig 22” BIG Bell Crash Ride 2402 g PRE CURSOR 602

This is a fascinating Paiste - an Earlier Vintage Paiste Ludwig 22” but with this hella-beautiful BELL.

It LOOKS like a pre-cursor to the 602. And it has that lush smoothness too!  This doesn’t resemble any other Paiste Ludwig I’ve seen before.  And it doesn’t say “Ludwig Standard.”  It has the 3 stars arcing over the logo. It’s much better sounding than a Ludwig Standard.

Whopping 6” bell gives it very much a Suspended Crash or 22” Crash profile.  And it actually SOUNDS like a crash too.  

2402 grams gives it a Medium Thin Crash Ride weight  and that’s exactly how it plays.  Handles mallet rolls beautifully.  Still makes a terrific semi-dry 22” Ride. The stick attack is fairly pronounced for a thinner Paiste and of course that bell is magnificent.  

Has all the hallmarks of a Vintage Paiste 602 22” with a larger bell.  Deep brown/olive patina.  

Has a slightly nastier more organic vintage tone than your standard 602.  Much more vibe - a bit dirty and earthen.

Sounds amazing from low to loud settings.

No issues. Awesome naturally built up patina.
