- Many people see the Paiste Colorsounds and think "Wow, there's a Red (or black, or green or blue) cymbal. Funky." But what people often forget is that the Colorsounds SOUND much different than any other Paiste series.
- Yes, it's the ink.
- It dries the tone out-and quite noticeably too. And when you take a Paiste 2002 or Signature and then DRY and darken the tone-you've got a much different sounding cymbal. You still have that famous clean Paiste sound but it's more controlled and it has a faster decay-and that's not a bad thing when you consider how much 2002s can ring out.
- The tone is fairly DARK for a Power Ride too!
- Weighing in at a lovely 2808 grams this COLORSOUND Ride plays like healthy DARK Dry POWER Ride. The ink dries out the sustain a bit, so you get a great stick attack that is followed by a fairly controlled wash.
