- Absolutely fantastic sounding flagship Sabian HHX Manhattan Hi Hats in the damn-near-impossible to find 13” size!
- Have a listen to this exact pair! They’re thin and much more responsive, articulate and faster than any of the 14” hi hats.
- The Top is only 704 grams which makes this particular pair exceptionally airy, light and whispy sounding. Combine that with the HHX craftsmanship and you have gorgeous hats.
- And I’m not even sure Sabian makes these Manhattans today - they’re not a regular catalog item and not on the site. Whatever you can find is nearly $650. And I have seen them in 13s” in a long time.
- But I can’t say they aren’t worth it! These are some of the nicest THIN modern hi hats I’ve heard.

- And that is accurate!
- And then of course they smashed our dreams upon the rocks below by making them damn near impossible to find.
- At 704 and 904 grams these Hard to Find 13” Manhattan Jazz Hats play like ultra warm, PAPER THIN smooth, semi-complex hi hats.
- Terrific subtle light complexity to them when opened. Close them for a lower pitched (for 13s”,) very responsive semi-dry stick attack. Overall subtle dark tone.
- These are some of lightest sounding Sabian hi hats you will find. Or actually not find.
- Perfect for very low to medium volumes. Great for recording.
- Light golden patina mellows them out. No issues. Overall very clean.
- Incredible sounding hi hats. Just listen! And buy with confidence!
