- These beauties are 25 years old and are from Paistes cleanest sounding era!
- As some of you may recall, the Sound Formulas were like an alternate version of Paiste Signatures - they were released at the same time and they were SO close to the Signatures that Paiste discontinued them.
- The Sound Formulas were a bit glassier sounding than the Signatures, and that is definitely the case with these 13” Med Heavies.
- Being the Rare 13s”, these beauties are ultra crisp and TIGHT - much more so than the 14s”. And the smaller size gives them a much faster decay and playability.
- 768 grams for the Top cymbal and a perfect 1100 grams for the Bottom cymbal.
- They provide the perfect New Beat style CHICK - it cuts extremely well. That Heavy bottom cuts beautifully in a mix.
- The lathing is Signature - like but SUPER FINE.
- Very Dark for Paistes. Very dark for 13s”.
- Incredibly crisp. Clean sound. Even DRY. The overtones are controlled. Medium Lower pitched and dark with a great cutting ability and fast play- and that’s not an easy combination to find.
- These may very well be the Sound Creations of the future. They were rare when made and they’re dark and sound incredible.
- Great shape for 25 years old. No issues. Light golden patina.
- Paiste offers nothing like these today. And the Signatures they do offer are over half a grand.
