- Zildjian is out of stock on so many cymbals. It’s crazy. Well no more guessing at stock photos and no waiting for hi hats to re-stock, that WON’T RESTOCK because they’re discontinued.
- Behold! This beautiful pair of Zildjian AVEDIS SERIES 14” Hi Hats in fantastic shape with a glorious patina.
- THIS pair has not only a factory pre aged patina... they have MELLOWED beautifully with an organic natural patina.
- This particular pair is light for the series but also very focused for the series. They sound fantastic. Have a listen!
- Here’s how Zildjian describes these hi hats:
"This Avedis series is a sonic recreation of the vintage "A" sound from the 1950's. Each cymbal in this collection delivers immense musicality and features a thin, loose, played-in feel with a great balance of bright and dark overtones. The A Avedis Hi Hats feature a Medium Thin bottom cymbal that is a little bit heavier than the Thin top in order to deliver that prominent. We added a variety of intricate details to make this collection truly something special including its timeless, individual "aged" patina to t classy and understated "Avedis" logo, to the original hollow "Zildjan" logo underneath.”
- There ya’ go!!
- Weighing in at a light 906 grams for the top cymbal and a thin 1168 grams for the bottom cymbal, these Zildjians play and sound like OLD SCHOOL THIN DRY 14" Hi Hats - with old school 60s Zildjian weights.
- What I dig about this particular pair of AVEDIS Hi Hats is that the do have a pinch more articulation and focus to them as far as the series goes. They sound magnificent! And having that thinner top cymbal they are remarkably responsive!
- These specific 14s" aren't just relegated to the jazz ballad or super quiet Starbucks acoustic singer/songwriter gigs. This pair cuts nicely too! They have a bite when laid into but still have a refined classiness.
- Low volume to medium loud. Right at home in absolutely ANY genre (except heavy metal I suppose.)
- Tight, crisp but mellow, articulate and dry when closed. Very refined and smooth. Open them up for a light and airy tone. Great sloshy RINGO 60s tone when loose.
- No issues. Great shape with strong logos and a stunning patina. A killer sounding pair of Zildjians that you cannot get anymore!
- But here they are!
