THESE ARE  SOME OF THE THINNEST HIHATS I HAVE EVER COME ACROSS!!! THEY ARE AS PAPERTHIN AS IT GETS!!

586 and 708 grams!!

586!! That's NOT a typo!! That is THIN as hell!

A SLICE OF MUSIC HISTORY/AMERICANA!!

DRY - WHISPY - AIRY!!!  THESE HIHATS ARE THE EPITOME OF ALL THOSE TRAITS!!!

$559.99!! That is how much a new pair of Zildjian K Constantinople Hihats will set you back.  And that's the Guaranteed Lowest Price too. Now of course if you're on a shoestring budget you can get the regular GARDEN VARIETY K Hihats for $469.95.

How about $520 for a pair of "vintage vibe" Keropes??? That are trying to IMITATE THESE???

NONE will sound like THESE 70 Year Old ULTRA PAPERTHIN GEMS!! As a matter of fact, NO modern Zildjian will...

Posted for your immense pleasure this insanely Hard to Find  KILLER sounding pair of DRY, WHISPY, HAND HAMMERED 1940s Vintage Zildjian TRANS STAMP PAPERTHIN 14" Hihats that are in EXCELLENT Condition. Check out the pictures!

Remarkably, there are

NO

cracks on these beauties.  They are in EXCELLENT SHAPE with a wonderful patina that has befriended them and helps dry them out a bit and a bit of typical light edge wear...they are ULTRA PAPERTHIN afterall. Years ago the tops may have been cleaned but it doesn't look like the undersides ever were!

586 and 708...

It ain't easy to find a pair of 70 year old Paperthin Zildjian Hihats. The Thin Zildjians that did survive the Great Cymbal Massacre of the late 1970s, were hunted down and slaughtered mercilessly during the Hair Metal Saturnalia of the late 1980s. How this pair of 14s" survived the decimation, I can only imagine. They must have belonged to a sax player.

I mean these things are THIN! UNBELIEVABLY THIN!!!

Old School Lathing too...someone at Zildjian showed them some LOVE. Hand Hammered. Dig the craftsmanship that went into these.

Weighing in at a flyweight 586 grams for the Top Cymbal and 708 grams for the Bottom Cymbal, these Vintage Zildjians play like CLASSIC Old School Super Paperthin Zildjians. You can even see the stamp coming through to the underside. And these hihats are EASILY BENDABLE. They can fold like a taco...but don't fold them like a taco.

DARK, warm, DRY, airy, papery-wispy. And with a fast decay.   Unbelievably responsive!!

What I would do with these amazing Vintage Zildjians is re-open The COTTON CLUB...because you have the sound right here. That's exactly what these hats sound like (minus the gunshots.)

A fantastic sounding pair of impossibly thin Vintage Paperthins!!

Swing, jazz, blues, big band, Louis Armstrong early Hot 5s and Hot 7s recording, Cab Calloway, early New Orleans and Dixieland, Louis Jordan jump blues, barrel-house, boogie woogie, ballads, soul, bar room brawls, folk, porch fights, house rent parties, Elvis, early R&B and rockabilly...that's what these  Paperthin Vintage 40s Zildjians excel at. Just don't rock them hard because they will break if slammed upon...and no one wants that, damnit.

And it ain't easy to find over half-century old Paperthin Zildjian Hihats these days. Hold onto to these babies because they will definitely appreciate!

If you want a Vintage tone, then go to the source. These Hihats are THE SOURCE.

$559.99 for non-Vintage Zildjians?!! THESE Hihats KILL the K Cons!!! Period. And why not play cymbals that will APPRECIATE.

$520 for the "new fangled" Avedis or Kerope Series????

WHY BOTHER WITH THE IMITATION "VINTAGE HOMAGE" MODERN ZILDJIAN???

So do yourself a favor and grab these Hard to Find Vintage Zildjian 1940s Trans Stamp 14" ULTRA PAPERTHIN Hihats.  Use them on your next gig, give them to the Smithsonian as a slice of American Music History, or store them in the closet and watch them appreciate, because they sure as hell will.
