No need to spend $540 on a big box store guess at what your hihats sound like!! That’s ridiculous!
Have a listen to this exact pair! They sound amazing - they’re surprising dark and crisp!
And they’re the 400th Anniversary Zildjian stamp! This particular pair was hand picked for a studio and you can tell - they sound incredible recorded.
Zildjian K Custom HYBRID 13.25” Hihats in amazing condition!
These are technically 13.25” Hihats in the Zildjian catalog. That’s how they classify them.
Zildjian describes these hihats as:
“Developed in conjunction with leading drum stylist Akira Jimbo, the Zildjian K Kustom Hybrid Hi-Hat Pair features an innovative brilliant/traditional surface that produces different tones depending on where the cymbal is played for a musical "darkness with brilliance" combination. The inner half features the unlathed, brilliant finish of the K Custom Ride, while the outer half features the traditionally finished K Zildjian lathing. The unlathed section helps control the wash and sustain, making it ideal for recording and live situations."
And that is accurate. As you can see, these 13.25s" are half-lathed--the top half of the cymbals is unlathed and the bottom cymbal has a Mastersound styled edge for a bone-crunching "CHICK."
Weighing in at a lovely 856 grams for the Top cymbal and 1210’grams for the Bottom cymbal, these 13" Ks play like DARK CRISP Hats.
What's interesting about this specific pair is that they have a great darker, slightly dry tone with a quick response that cuts extremely well, and since they're Ks, they STILL have a warm vibe that distinguishes them from Zildjian New Beats and other A Series. And of course the Sound Edge styled ripples supply a great CHICK tone.
And being the smaller 13.25” size they offer a super quick and fast response! Extremely articulate.
Absolutely perfect for any style of music - whether live or under the mic.
Amazing condition! No issues. Super clean. And not $540 for a stock photo guess.
