The Original Paiste BLUEBIRD 20” SWEET Ride. This is one of the EARLIEST ones and it was developed in conjunction with Andre Ceccarelli well over a decade ago!
And dammit is it’s CLEAN! Literally one of the first ones ever.
Not long after it debuted, this Paiste was rebranded the “Mellow Ride.” Can a cease and desist order affect tone? I don’t know but I’m looking at you Zildjian!!
Whatever the drama, the newer models never captured the light delicateness of the first run Bluebird Sweet.
Have a listen. It may be mellow but this Rare Original definitely is SWEET!

Paiste has Rudes and strong-belled cymbals down to perfection, but that angelic, light airiness had eluded them, until this beauty debuted, and then disappeared. Alas, such is the power of a cease and desist! (But not before I procured one!)
