- To have a cymbal Series named “Jazz Master” is quite a bold statement. But, I have to give it to Bosphorus, this 22" 1880 gram beauty is indeed a fantastic Paper Thin, light, and airy handcrafted beauty! Reminiscent of some of the 1940s and 50s Hand Hammered Zildjians but with a bit more breathiness and a golden shimmer that emanates.
- As you can see, this hand-hammered 22” is fully lathed with thin to wide gold ribbons on the surface while the bell is wide-lathed like a Bosphorus New Orleans Ride.
- What I love about this particular 22" is that its defining characteristics are LIGHT, AIRY, complex, and yet they stick attack has a pinch of control.
- Overall very complex-sounding but the golden stick attack resides above the wash. It’s not dry but for a paper-thin complex cymbal, it delivers a great stick attack.
- At only 1880 grams, this thing is definitely crashable. It’s paper thin - 1880 would be thin for a 20”. This is a 22”! It excites with the lightest swipe.
- Light. Airy. Complex with a percolating warmth and glow.
- Incredibly responsive. Perfect for very low to medium volumes.
- Harkens back to the complex Zildjians of the 1950s - that’s the vibe, but it has a bit more liveliness to it.
- Immaculate Condition! No issues.
- A hard cymbal to actually find - especially where you can hear it! There’s not much out there that captures a papery whispiness like this!
