  • Here's an amazing Light, glowing Thin Ride that’s easily crashable and has a beautiful PAPERY wash. It has a beautiful shimmer to it!

  • Gorgeous Hand Hammered Rare Factory THIN RIDE 22” - ONLY 2280 grams. Easily bendable edges. 

  • This particular Bosphorus Antique is stamped "Thin Ride” and they’re not lying. It’s very thin and extremely responsive and has a beautiful airiness to it. 

  • As you can see, this Antique or sometimes called Sultan Series is Half-Lathed and Half-Unlathed, and Heavily Hammered throughout. The underside is fully Lathed. A gorgeous, hand-crafted instrument!

  • These cymbals are generally described as:
    “A combination of the Traditional and the Turk Series. The sound has unique brilliant characteristics of the Traditional cymbal sounds and the dry & woody sound of the unlathed Turk cymbal series. The top of the cymbal has an unlathed cup producing a strong, compact bell sound and an unlathed concentric circle on the bow reducing overtone and drying the sound. The bottom of the cymbal is completely lathed.  Mellow Tone. Great Stick Definition. Controlled Overtones."

  • And that is accurate. 

  • At a perfect 2280 grams this Antique plays like a Semi-Dark and fairly CONTROLLED LIGHT Ride. I would not call this cymbal super dry (like some Turk Rides), although the wash is fairly focused, compliments of the unlathed portions. 

  • There is a broad spread but it is not overly complex. The bell is RAW and measures a generous 5.5" and is Unlathed and provides a solid cut - and that’s quite an accomplishment on such a thin cymbal.  

  • The fascinating thing about this 22” THIN is that there is a gorgeous, subtle papery, whispy tone that no other cymbal company can capture.  It’s delicate and light! 

  • You can draw different tones out of this cymbal when playing on different surfaces....lathed or unlathed. When you ride this cymbal at the outer edge, it really opens up and makes for a great THIN DARK Crash/Ride. 

  • CRASHES LIKE A DREAM!!! Perfect for very low to medium loud volumes.
