One of Istanbul Mehmet’s newest offerings. The John JR Robinson 24” SWISH KNOCKER with ALL 20 brass rivets - just like it’s 1952. And that was the concept behind this glorious 2 foot beauty - capturing the sound of the old school Hand Hammered gems from days of yore. And Istanbul nailed it!

If you like the old-school Vintage-vibe Chinas and Swishes from the 1940s and 1950s then this BIG Hand Hammered 22” will have you beaming!

With a Traditional style lathe, this 24” Swish is exceptionally mellow but can yield a roar when laid into. Harkens back to that “contraption” trap kit era. But is huge so it’s easily rideable.

Beautifully Hand Hammered. Low profile. Large rounded over bell gives it a broad roar when crashed upon.

3” flanged edge is ripe for striking.

Mellow with a light complexity. Dark, organic, extremely responsive at lower volume settings but has no problem cutting - it has a biting quick attack with a terrific golden glow of all 20 brass rivets.

2992 grams gives it a medium constitution but it plays LIGHT. And that’s the real trick.

Glorious as an alternate Ride - a la Mel Lewis. The stick attack is strong, especially for a fully lathed China.
