- This gorgeous pair is clean and are THE ORIGINALS from the 1980s.
- THE Early K/Zs are MUCH MORE BALANCED AND EUPHONIC than the later models, especially when they’ve mellowed for 35 years.
- Zildjian describes these hihats as:
"K HiHat top with Z Dyno Beat HiHat bottom. Dry, musical stick sound. Bright, sharply defined "chick." 13" highly recommended."
- Except this pair is considerably darker sounding for the series - complements of that Brilliant Finish.
- And dig that Ealier K hammering on the TOP too. That ain't a modern Zildjian K.
- These K/Z Combo hihats are ingenious. The heavy, unlathed Original Hex Z Dyno Beat Bottom provides a monstrous CHICK. And the thinner, darker, more mellow 80s K Top provides a dark, warmer tone that makes a great counterpart to the bright, heavy Z.
- The result is a pair of dark, cutting hihats that are wonderfully versatile. They project extremely well and still maintain the CRISP tone of 13s".

- VERY CRISP. NOT HARSH, still project a nice Earlier K warmth. Articulate. Amazing CHICK tone. They still breathe at lower/medium volumes. Darker sounding than the modern ones. Overall semi-DRY. Exceptionally aged and played in for a mellower tone.
- The Brilliant ones are hard to find and much darker.
- No issues. Light patina/use. Extremely clean considering their age.
- These are the Early ones that EVERY Zildjian artist used back in the day. This is the sound.
