- Gorgeous golden lathing and Hand Hammered - Before ANYONE had seen this kind of craftsmanship and beauty! This is the mid 80s and this is THE company that ushered in the old world craftsmanship - the kind of artistry that fomented a movement of boutique cymbalsmiths.
- Istanbul’s old-world Zildjian Istanbul K-styled handiwork attracted the ears and signatures of jazz greats Mel Lewis and Elvin Jones. And this Early China is from those Elvin years!
- Complex and organic with that exotic Hand Hammered tone that turned heads and struck fear into the hearts of cymbal companies everywhere!
- All that beautiful Hand Hammering supplies a wonderful complexity - the kind no one in the 80s had heard, unless you knew about Istanbul Ks.
- At 1304 grams this Early 18” Istanbul is cutting and incisive without clanking. The decay is medium fast too.
- It makes a great alternate ride cymbal - the Real Deal! The stick attack is solid - especially for a China and its 18” size gives it control and a good response.
- Generous PANG-styled upturned flanges lip that is 2.5” and generous for the striking. Rounded over Old School Swish bell.
