Here’s a killer sounding pair of Sabians you can no longer get! Hell, I’ve not even seen these before. They’re like 10” SICK HATS, but with a Flat Quick Beat style bottom cymbal.

Raw.  Unlathed. Tight, quick, organic and complex. They look amazing too. Zildjian offered nothing like these. 

These make fantastic 10” Fast Complex Hihats. But their world does not end there!! 

Here’s how Sabian described these (before they discontinued them):

The top and bottom of this pairing feature hole patterns to enhance the sound.  The bottom cymbal is thin, un-lathed and flat, with 6 one-inch holes.  The top is slightly smaller than the bottom, has 6 rows of Aero holes and is medium thin.  The smaller top creates a tight fit, and the holes project a quick attack, emulating an electronic “clap”.  Overall, they are darker and lower-pitched than many of the stacking combinations popular today.  A special process gives them their unique finish.”

Pure poetry! I absolutely love these cymbals as hihats. They’re like more complex Nano Hats. 

All those holes prevent airlock, and who doesn't want that when humidity sinks in? No more embarrassment at the school picnic. 

Hell, you can even split these up as two 10s” - they are all around Effects cymbals/Hihats. The look, tone, design is one more testament to Sabian's penchant for innovation.
