Here’s a unique mellow flat ride that is beautifully Hand Hammered. And you hardly ever see this beauty, much less here in action.  But never chez Hazelshould!  Listen to them ALL!!

No big company offers anything like this dark, glorious, two dimensional wonder.

Istanbul Mehmet Horacio El Negro 22” FLAT RIDE in IMMACULATE condition! Perfect!

And this 22 is easily bendable, especially for a flat ride. This thing wobbles and quakes all over the place when struck.

As you may know the absence of a bell gives a cymbal a lovely controlled vibe, the overtones won't build up and get in the way of the glorious TURKISH TONE!!

For those who don't know, Horacio Hernandez has played with a myriad of artists from Dizzy Gillespie to Santana.

Here’s Istanbul’s take:
"Designed for Horacio "El Negro" Hernandez, the El Negro series by Istanbul Mehmet has a sound and appearance as unique as Horacio's playing. The Flat Ride Cymbal features a specially brushed finish.
The cymbal offers a softer tone and wash which is perfect for jazz and ambient styles of music."

And there you have it.  It's overall pretty dark sounding and lower pitched too.

Weighing in at a perfect 2418 grams, this Mehmet El Negro plays like a gorgeous, slightly dry Thin Flat Ride. The tone is a pinch complex thanks to all that Hand Hammering, however being the Flat Ride it's obviously the most controlled cymbal in the series. The stick definition is prominent (compliments of the absence of a bell) and the ensuing was is very controlled but still has a liveliness that percolates under neath that initial attack.

This is a really nice 22"! The edges are easily bendable and it's remarkably responsive at lower volume settings.

When you crash on it, it admits a lightning-light crash that is perfect for accents while riding.

Dark. Lower pitched. Slightly complex but with a short decay for a 22". Warm but still controlled.
Remarkably responsive and focused both in volume and overtones. Bendable THIN.

That is this hard to find Istanbul.

No issues. Immaculate condition. And literally less than a 17 inch K Crash.
