  • Here’s a fantastic 22” K Zildjian that is “out of stock” on the Zildjian site.

  • And if you can find one it will run you $555 for a stock photo and a guess at what it sounds like.

  • But never chez Hazelshould!  Listen to this exact cymbal. Listen to your heart’s content so you can buy with confidence!

  • This specific 22” Zildjian K Dark Medium is one of the SWEETEST sounding ones I’ve encountered.  It has a great stick attack followed by that famous light complexity the series is renown for.

  • Here’s how Zildjian describes this 22” K:
“The 22" K Zildjian Dark Medium Ride is designed to perform in rock and jazz settings with equal effectiveness. This cymbal features a large bell for excellent projection in rock settings, and special hammering and lathing to open up the cymbal for broad tonal complexities in jazz settings. Exclusive "Pin" lathing enhances the crashability and gives the cymbal a distinct appearance reminiscent of 1960's era K Zildjians.”

  • And that is accurate!

  • This Zildjian 22" K plays like a Semi-Complex Dark Medium Thin to Medium Ride. As you can see, it is heavily hammered and similar in appearance to a K Constantinople-it has a very wavy surface and similar hammering.

  • However, as Zildjian professes, the bulked up weight gives it added projection WITHOUT sacrificing tone. It delivers a solid stick attack and still has a subtle complexity to it. Almost like a heavier K Constantinople 22". And the bell is more solid than a K Cons.

  • The weight is 2938 grams which contributes to its strong definition.

  • Complex but still fairly focused with a good attack and an overall smooth tone for the series, and definitely crashable when you need a HUGE 22" FULL Crash tone.

  • Perfect for low to loud volumes - one of the most versatile Ks Zildjian makes - or at least made.  Apparently they don’t right now.

  • No issues. Terrific condition. Not easy to find where you can hear it before you buy.
