- A gorgeous truly Hand Hammered Zildjian right here, was actually what was used on so many records in the 1940s and 50s:
- Beautiful Hand Hammered LIGHT, SMOOTH and CONTROLLED 80 year-old Vintage Zildjian Crash or Crash Ride in amazing shape.
- Forged in the first two decades of Zildjian USA - it’s pretty incredible that a beauty like this has even survived that long.
- This Vintage 1940s TRANS STAMP Zildjian 18” is makes the perfect smaller Light Crash Ride complement to a 20” or 22! It’s airy, smooth controlled and has that famous tone that brought all the drummers the the Zildjian doorstep.
- Weighing in at lovely 1536 grams this 18” offers a simply terrific definition - it has a 8-decade old golden patina that dries this Zildjian out beautifully.
- The lathing and surface is Hand Hammered but also smooth to the touch from well over a half-century of living.
- Dark and light overtones for an 18” and slightly dry, exceptionally mellow and smooth. Aged particularly well with a pinpoint stick attack. Good definition and penetration but still remains controlled and mellow. Very solid bell for an 18”.
- Crash on it for strong accents while riding. It makes a straight up great Crash Cymbal.
- Being an 18” this Zildjian is controlled both in overtones and volume - perfect for low to medium volume settings - still has enough weight to cut through a band. And the crash cuts magnificently.
- Small combo Light Main Ride or Left Side Crash Ride to accompany your main Ride. Whatever you decide this 1940s Zildjian can occupy many positions on a kit.
- A Vintage A from around the time Max Roach hit the scene is quite a nice Zildjian!
- No issues. Stunning golden hue built up naturally. Fantastic condition.
- Why spend more money on a big box store Zildjian that is just reaching to do what this Zildjian does naturally every day?!
