- With a little help from Tony Williams and Steve Gadd, Zildjian introduced their American made K Series circa 1981. Up until then, the entire American catalog was the Zildjian A.
- Colloquially known as “EAK, or Early American K, these Zildjians were actually Hand Hammered and “their lower frequency range gives them a dark, dry tonal quality…deep, mellow and rich.”
