- Very Thin and very, very responsive 716 gram Top Cymbal with a fairly thin 1186 gram Bottom Cymbal. That’s a very thin top cymbal and makes for the great one on this set.
- Why go $480 for the modern ones - just trying to imitate these. They won’t be anything close to this famous tone!
- Here we have a pair of LIGHT, clean-sounding articulate, slightly dry with a pinch of complex SHIMMER, VINTAGE Zildjian Hihats in fantastic shape! Aged beautifully over the last half a century.
- VERY THIN TOP with a Medium Bottom for the great response and tremendous CHICK. Look to be from the late 50s/Early 60s.
- These 14s” espouse the tone-honored New Beat philosophy of a thin top cymbal coupled with a heavier bottom cymbal to supply plenty of CHICK tone!
- And that they do!! Crisp, tight, clean, and articulate sticking that is focused - compliments of that 6-decade old patina. These beauties are drier and more tight and clean sounding than the $480 new ones - they have aged and focused up beautifully.
- This particular pair has a light liveliness that floats over the top - just a hint of brilliance to them. I guess they were anointed!
