- Here’s one of the greatest cymbals Zildjian ever made!
- So of course…….they discontinued it!!!!
- The pain! The pain!!
-
But I’m an analgesic! And so it is with pride and joy that I offer this very rare, very clean, 20 year old beauty to ease the pain!
- The famous 22” Zildjian Red Label Oriental China Trash and in magnificent shape!
- This China is unlike any other Zildjian ever offered. It actually lives up to its name. And it’s Brilliant too.
- Super low profile on this glorious 22”.
- Zildjian described this beauty as:
- "Authentic "trashy" Chinese sound. Very fast, explosive response with rapid decay."
- And then they went and discontinued it!! For shame Zildjian!
- The weight is a wonderfully THIN 2292 grams. One swipe at this Giant 22" yield a DARK, organic, fairly complex tone. One of the best modern Zildjian Chinas they ever made.
- The pitch is medium low and what's particularly great about this 22” is that it’s huge but also mellow and still has a nice complexity to it.
- And despite its mellower vibe, the attack cuts extremely well if you lay into it--just as Zildjian promises. The sustain is medium long. This is a terrific sounding versatile big, dark Zildjian 22".
- It’s responsive but also BIG. So it can go from a whisper to a roar with ease.
- At this Beast will sing with rivets, if you're so inclined. It's dark and has a mellow side. And with a plain this big this 22" beckons for you to ride on it a la alternate Swish China Ride cymbal.
- Very hard to find when it actually was being produced. And Zildjian discontinued it long ago.
- But as many a cymbalholic knows, THIS is the Zildjian Swish to get.
- And ever since the modern era, china cymbals because more harsh and smaller and more brash.
- That’s exactly why THIS one is so sought after - it plays like a gorgeous hand hammered beauty from the 1950s.
- Amazing shape. Brilliant finish. No issues. Light patina that has graced it over the last 20 years.
- Damn near impossible to find. Awesome.
