Here’s a beauty that has been ignominiously expunged from the catalog!!

And that is horrible because the Mini Cup was a staple of the studio for decades. Bernard Purdie. Ed Shaughnessy. And hundreds of other
Zildjian artists sported this Mini Cup because it’s a studio gem!  Great for recording!

Vintage Zildjian 20” Mini Cup Ride in fantastic condition! This one has a great crystalline tone to it - plays similarly to a vintage Paiste Flat Ride with a pinch more body.

As many of you may know, Mini Bells are controlled both in volume and in overtones. And this 20” is no exception. And the great patina helps mellow the tone out even further. It’s aged exquisitely!

Here’s what Zildjian had to say about the cymbal from the 1979 catalog:

"These cymbals have small, shallow cups with sweeping bows, are vely high pitched and have virtually no build up of overtones."

Reads like a Wordsworth poem!!!

Weighing in at a lovely 2588 grams, this wonder yields a very strong stick attack. That chime-like attack is followed by a bright, VERY TIGHT, MEeeeeellLLLLo000000000w wash that remains controlled and focused - compliments of the mini bell.

If you crash/accent on this Zildjian you get a great lightening that's perfect for quick explosions and still gives off a full attack. And you can lay into this 20" and it ever get away from you.

Therein lies its beauty. You can swing your ass off on this Zildian and the attack is ALWAYS on top and the overtones VERY FOCUSED and CONTROLLED!!

And that is exactly why it is a studio stalwart. Mic friendly.

And perfectly live because it cuts without clanking or being heavy handed.

Fantastic condition with no issues and a stunning, deep golden brown patina that has graced it over the last half a century!

Discontinued and hard to find.
