  • One of the earliest Zildjian As there is!  From the 1930s! And it sounds perfect - like an Art Tatum record! 

  • THIS 11” IS HAND HAMMERED, PAPER THIN, IT'S 90 YEARS OLD, AND IT ACTUALLY SPLASHES WITH A WHISPY SHIMMER!!
  • Super old school BUDDY RICH or GENE KRUPA vibe, Dixieland/NewOrleans tone. ONLY 268 grams. Perfect for vintage setups and tones.  

  • This 1930s Zildjian literally comes from the first few years of Zildjian USA - right after they closed the confectionary and started selling cymbals instead of candy.  
    Think about that. That’s crazy.  Dizzy Gillespie was a new artist. “Salt Peanuts” was a new hit song. 
  • Who the hell knows how this beauty survived! It most have been played by a mouse!! It's nearly 90 years old and ONLY 268 grams. The edges bend with ease.

  • A perfect resource to see how cymbals used to be made. By hand. 

  • This 11” is EASILY bendable and has all the warm, dark ultra-classy tone you would expect from a GREAT sounding 30s Vintage Zildjian Paperthin Splash. It's the tone that made them famous. It actually goes "SPLASH”  it doesn't clank its way through life like some of its modern, heavier brethren.

  • Responsive, complex with a FAST decay. Slightly exotic sounding.  And dig the lathing and the bell-that ain't a modern Zildjian, no way, that's Old School beauty!
  • Primed for 8 rivets and currently outfitted with 4, and they look like they’re from the 1930s too! I mean these are like WW 2 looking rivets. Older than anything else I’ve ever seen.

  • Great shape for its age. Light typical wear on a nearly 100 year old thin splash. 
  • Obviously this Hand Hammered Vintage Zildjian 12” Splash is a no brainer for jazz, ballads, blues, swing. dixieland and trio work. But its dark, rich tone would be a welcomed addition in soul, early rockabilly and R&B, folk, acoustic settings, singer/songwriter gigs, and definitely session work.
