- And that’s why this Rare Paiste 21” RUDE is so amazing and fun to play! He sported the RUDE 21” on his kit.
- And that makes perfect sense too because this this is a glorious and beautiful BEAST of a Paiste! Dark. Full. Low pitched. Great bell. Classic Van Halen wall-of-sound.
- And this 21” is the Original from 1985!!
- The weight is 2846 grams.
- As many of you know, Paiste created the RUDE series in 1980/81 to quench the thirst of rock and punk players (although there were a few jazz enthusiasts who used them too.) The unlathed and heavily hammered Rudes offered an unprecedented explosive cut and sustain that held up both sonically and structurally in loud volume settings. The Rude series went through many logo changes but always kept it's raw bell, unlathed surface, and talent for explosive attack and maximum projection.
- And this No Longer Made Paiste RUDE 21" Ride Crash is no exception. The tone is Extremely FULL and semi-dark but not as clean as a standard 2002. It's definitely more Raw in both appearance and sound. More complex. And much lower pitched. The bell sounds like a Stewart Copeland bell.
- Fantastic projection - yet still dark!! Great for loud to louder to loudest.
- Check out the hammering on the underside all around the edge! Classic ORIGINAL RUDE.
- The regular puny 20” costs $470!
- This Rare Original 21” has much more attitude than the Re-issue. Alex Van Halen wasn’t wrong.
