- A gorgeous Zildjian that is half-a-century old! And it is a very rare A & CIE Stamp - one of the FIRST Zildjian “BRILLIANT FINISH” cymbals (according to Zildjian.)
- And dammit it sounds amazing!
- I’ve only seen two or three of these in the 2 FOOT version and this one is definitely the THINNEST and lightest sounding. Zildjians with this stamp are usually heavier Ping Ride vibes. Not this one.
- This Vintage A & CIE harkens from the 1970s and it carries that Vintage decade flag perfectly! It has strong high and lows present and one hell of an amazing 6” BELL that is darker and lower pitched than the anemic 20” or even 22” Zildjian.
- Weighing in at a Goldilocks 3570 grams, this 24” plays like a Medium Thin or Medium with razor sharp edges. And that’s exactly why it crashes so well.
- Plays surprisingly LIGHT for the era and series.
- Terrific stick attack on top that emits a beautiful shimmering Brilliance. Amazing CRASH tone that is rare for this series. Much darker, lower pitched and a hell of a lot more fun than the regular big box story, puny 20”.
- The 6" bell is solid and cuts well. Right below the bell, you get a great, fairly focused Vintage Ping tone. As you migrate toward the plain, the cymbal starts to breathe and the overtones emerge. And when you finally reach the fast inch of this 2 Foot Zildjian, billows out beautifully into a FULL ROAR!
- Killer for that massive Crash Riding Wall-of-White-Noise a la Van Halen or the Foo Fighters.
- You can use this 24” for absolutely anything. Definitely a stand out Zildjian that can come to every gig.
- No issues. Great shape with a light, natural patina built up over half-a-century.
