Sabian VAULT TOUR 2005 HHX PROTOTYPE 14” Hihats in great shape. Stunning craftsmanship and terrific weights as well. Hand Hammered and factory written “HHX” under the bell. “2005 VAULT TOUR.”

As you can see this unique 2005 Vault Pairing comprises a best-of-both-worlds approach both in craftsmanship and tone. 

The Top cymbal is fully lathed on both sides and sports a lower profile. The hammering is both large and small HHX style. 
The Bottom cymbal resembles the rare and Limited Ralph Peterson Signature model (RIP and thank you for the music) 22” but in a hihat. Raw bell segues into wide gold and black lathing with a raw and blackened surface. Classic large HHX hammering as well.

The end result is a unique combo of warm and very responsive tone with a light HHX Hand Hammered complexity combined with the dry and organic, very punctuated CHICK of a heavier, raw and organic Bottom cymbal.

Part warm and responsive.  Part dry and organic.

The gram weights are 748 over 1208. That’s a wide New Beat-style range that allows for a Thin to Paper Thin feel and tone over a Medium Heavy Bottom.

Sabian makes NOTHING like these now, nor back in 2005.  That’s the beauty of the Prototype and Vault Tour programs.
