- Don’t guess at stock photos and wait for hihats to re-stock, that WON’T RESTOCK because they’re discontinued.
- Thats right! The horror!
- But never fear! Behold! This beautiful THIN pair of Zildjian AVEDIS SERIES 14” HiHats in fantastic shape and is a bit more complex and lively than most in the series!
- This particular pair is light with an airy, percolating liveliness.
- That TOP cymbals weighs only 876 grams and that makes for a very responsive hihat!
- Here’s how Zildjian describes these hi hats:
"This Avedis series is a sonic recreation of the vintage "A" sound from the 1950's. Each cymbal in this collection delivers immense musicality and features a thin, loose, played-in feel with a great balance of bright and dark overtones. The A Avedis Hi Hats feature a Medium Thin bottom cymbal that is a little bit heavier than the Thin top in order to deliver that prominent. We added a variety of intricate details to make this collection truly something special including its timeless, individual "aged" patina to t classy and understated "Avedis" logo, to the original hollow "Zildjan" logo underneath.”
- There ya’ go!!
- Weighing in at a light 876 grams for the top cymbal and 1244 grams for the bottom cymbal, these Zildjians play and sound like OLD SCHOOL THIN SEMI-DRY 14" Hi Hats - with old school 60s Zildjian weights.
- What I dig about this particular pair of AVEDIS HiHats is that they do have a pinch more complexity to them. The top side is clean and the underside has the factory patina which give these a bit more light airy tone than most pairs.
- These specific 14s" aren't just relegated to the jazz ballad or super quiet Starbucks acoustic singer/songwriter gigs. This pair cuts nicely too! They have a bite when laid into but still have a refined classiness.
- Low volume to medium loud. Right at home in absolutely ANY genre (except heavy metal I suppose.)
- Tight, crisp but mellow, articulate and dry when closed. Very refined and smooth. Open them up for a light and airy tone. Great sloshy RINGO 60s tone when loose.
- Great shape with strong logos. A killer sounding pair of Zildjians that you cannot get anymore!
- But here they are! And no guessing at tone!
