Here’s a Top of the Line, Made in U.S.A. DW COLLECTOR’S Series VLT Snare Drum fully pimped out and in an incredible High Gloss Burnt Toast Fade over EXOTIC TAMO ASH High and adorned with Black Nickel Hardware and in Immaculate condition!
That was quite a sentence. But it’s true!!!
I’ll keep this simple, this is how DW describes their VLT shells:
“In VLT™ shells, the outermost and innermost plies run vertically, rather than in the traditional horizontal configuration. The vertical grain reduces tension on a shell, allowing it to vibrate more freely for lower fundamental pitch.
A Collector's Series Favorite: 12-ply VLT snare shells feature select 1/36" plies cross-laminated to deliver attack, full-bodied mids, and great resonance."
That is all very seeeexaaaay.
And what it amounts to is an incredible sounding snare with great attack and response and fantastic low end. This drum can be tuned up or down low wherever you need it to be.
Outfitted with DW’s 5 position butt plate, and mag throw off, 10 famous DE turret lugs. Factory True true hoops all in a sleek Black Nickel Finish. Everything looks and works beautifully.
Deeper sized 6” X 14” couples with the VLT supplies plenty of beefy low end and a broad tuning range. The True Hoops deliver blistering rimshots.
This isn’t the pedestrian PDP stuff. This is DW’s USA Made top of the line drum and it shows. This Exotic DW retails for $1140.
But you need not sacrificed tone nor condition. This thing is stunning. Barely played.
